Biography
The production outfit Future Brown unites Asma Maroof with Daniel Pineda, who records as Nguzunguzu, Fatima Al-Qadiri under the alias Ayshay, and J-Cush, founder of Lit City Trax. Their work fuses multiple strands of rhythmic electronic music—dancehall, grime, reggaeton, bass, and footwork—while also pulling in mainstream currents from rap and R&B. After signing with Warp, the collective delivered its first release in November 2014, a four-track EP that included appearances by Tink, 3D Na'Tee, Prince Rapid, Dirty Danger, and Roachee. By the close of that year the single “Talkin Bandz” followed, with Shawnna and DJ Victoriouz supplying the vocals. The self-titled album arrived the next February and brought in further guests, among them Kelela, Sicko Mobb, and Timberlee.
