Biography
Garibaldi, the Mexican Latin pop ensemble, drew its name from a Mexico City venue once known for hosting troubadours who performed without charge. The group came together in 1989, then rose on the charts shortly after issuing the 1990 album Que Te La Pongo. Fusing tropical and dance-pop sounds, Garibaldi toured live across Latin America and appeared at the acclaimed Acapulco and Viña del Mar Festivals. After Patricia Manterola, actress/singer Pilar Montenegro, and Víctor Noriega left amid further lineup shifts, the act resurfaced at the start of the new millennium with the 2001 album Punto G.
