Gradur, the rapper born Wanani Gradi Mariadi and also known as Grady, first entered the industry as part of the group 59. Going solo, he issued the punningly titled mixtapes ShegueyVara and ShegueyVara, Vol. 2 in 2014 and 2015 before delivering his debut studio album L'Homme au Bob on Barclay later that same year. Driven by trunk-rattling beats and guest spots from Alonzo, Niro, Kayna Samet, Chief Keef, and Migos, the release climbed to number one on France's SNEP chart. Anchored by singles such as the dramatic "Terrasser" and the relatively light "Jamais," L'Homme au Bob attained gold status within a couple of months.
