Louisiana native Graham Barham channels the same rugged charisma as Morgan Wallen, delivering his material with a thick regional drawl and an easygoing rural attitude that defines the 2024 single “Bayou Boy.” Although he occasionally experiments with modern production touches—most notably on the 2022 breakthrough “Break It in a Bar,” whose glossy electronic sheen sets it apart—he remains equally at ease with older influences, as heard in the slow-burning soul number “Beer by My Bed.”

Born and raised on a farm in the tiny village of Oak Ridge, Barham absorbed music from an early age. His grandmother, the church organist, introduced him to gospel, while country songs captured his attention during childhood. He picked up the guitar at ten and began composing his own material before finishing high school, starting with a song written in memory of his best friend’s mother.

At eighteen he relocated to Nashville to enroll at Belmont University. While working behind a bar he gradually entered songwriting circles and introduced his own work with the 2022 release “Preachers Need People,” co-written with Will Bundy. After that track and its follow-up “Break It in a Bar” attracted online attention, he secured a distribution arrangement with Virgin and, in May 2023, a publishing deal through Warner Chappell Music and Cornman Music.

The soulful ballad “Beer by My Bed” served as his first Virgin-distributed single and was soon joined by “Two Broke Hearts” and “Breakin’ Down.” Those songs, along with the title track, appeared on the North of Hell EP, and Barham closed out 2023 with the additional singles “What Doesn’t Kill Ya” and “Good Sinner.”

In January 2024 he joined the rosters of Sony Music Nashville and Disruptor Records, issuing “Lights on Nobody’s Home” before “Bayou Boy” arrived shortly afterward.
