Biography
Haifa Wehbe has established herself as a leading Lebanese vocalist and screen performer whose dance-driven Arabic pop merges regional and Western influences. Public attention first arrived through her second-place finish in the Miss Lebanon pageant, after which she transitioned into music and achieved a breakthrough with the 2005 album Baddi Eesh. Later releases such as Habibi Ana in 2008, Malikat Jamal Al Kawn in 2012, and Hawwa in 2018 sustained her commercial momentum, while she simultaneously accumulated credits in multiple films and television series.
Raised in Lebanon, Wehbe displayed an early interest in performance and began by entering beauty competitions. She captured the Miss South Lebanon title while still a teenager and reached a larger audience as runner-up for Miss Lebanon. Her recording career opened with the 2002 album Houwa Al Zaman, but it was the follow-up Baddi Eesh that delivered widespread recognition through the singles “Ya Hayat Albi” and “Aana Haifa.” One year later she issued Farashet El Wadi.
Film work began in 2008 with Sea of Stars, the same year her fourth album Habibi Ana appeared under the supervision of producer Mohsen Gaber and included the track “Moush Adra Estana.” A children’s project, Baby Haifa, followed in 2010, and she next appeared in the Egyptian drama Dokkan Shehata the following year.
Malikat Jamal Al Kawn, her sixth album, arrived in 2012; Wehbe served as executive producer alongside Hadi Sharara, resulting in a collection that combined Western and Middle-Eastern sounds and led streaming charts. Further screen roles encompassed the films Halawet Rouh in 2014 and Khair and Baraka in 2017, as well as the series Kalam Ala Warak, Maryam, and Lanaat Karma. In September 2018 she independently produced and released her seventh studio album, Hawwa, supplying lyric videos for each of its fifteen tracks.
