Biography
Influenced by experimental rock and psych-folk torchbearers such as Animal Collective, Skygreen Leopards, and Akron/Family, the unpredictable Happy Jawbone Family Band from Brattleboro, Vermont, operated entirely on a D.I.Y. basis until signing with Brooklyn's Mexican Summer in 2013. The group belonged to an expanding, tightly interwoven southern Vermont psych-pop milieu that also featured Blanche Blanche Blanche and the Great Valley, issuing multiple albums and singles on their own before releasing the 2013 compilation Tastes the Broom, which collected their strongest early work. Later that same year the collective delivered their first official full-length release for the label, the self-titled debut album.
