Biography
British rock outfits Motörhead and Girlschool originated a joint endeavor, united by their common management and affiliation with the Bronze label. The partnership emerged after Motörhead scrapped their touring plans due to drummer Phil Taylor suffering a broken neck. During a Girlschool studio session, producer Vic Maile proposed a combined effort. This yielded the EP St. Valentine’s Day Massacre, which was fronted by the track ‘Please Don’t Touch’—a rendition of the 1960 Johnny Kidd And The Pirates number. Captured that December at Jackson studio in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, the release's popularity resulted in Headgirl—the merged moniker of the two groups—making three separate appearances on the British TV music show Top Of The Pops.
