Biography
Formed in 2007, the Irish indie folk duo Heathers centered on the abilities of Dublin-based twin sisters Louise and Ellie Macnamara, both aged 17 at the time. Their sharp melodies, constant tight harmonizing, and punk-infused delivery drew attention from the D.I.Y. label Plan-It-X Records, which put out their debut album Here, Not There in 2008 and arranged a U.S. tour alongside the punk-folk act Ghost Mice. Recording for their second album started in early 2010, with Kingdom appearing on Aunthill Records in 2012. Sony Music became their label in 2013 and handled a re-release of Kingdom the following year.
