Timmy Vulgar launched Human Eye in Detroit, Michigan, not long after the Clone Defects disbanded in 2004. The lineup featured Vulgar handling guitar and vocals alongside Johnny LZR on synthesizers, Bradley Hale on bass, and Hurricane William on drums. Their sound fuses raw punk fury with blown-out garage psych, resulting in a whirlwind of acid punk chaos. The group issued its self-titled debut on In the Red Records in 2005 and rapidly gained attention through chaotic live shows that incorporated props and insane visuals. Following a series of limited singles, Human Eye delivered its second album, Fragments of the Universe Nurse, via Hook or Crook in 2010 and then issued They Came from the Sky the next year. Months afterward the band captured a performance at Jack White’s Detroit indie label and record store, Third Man Records, which appeared as the release Third Man Live 09-23-2011. The group returned in 2013 with 4: Into Unknown on Goner Records.
