Humphrey

Emerging from Parisian beginnings as neo-soul singer Humphrey Milando, the artist born there in 1981 moved past his youthful group experience to rank among France’s foremost contemporary R&B figures. During his teenage years he helped launch the Harmony ensemble, modeled on Boyz II Men, and that act built its reputation by supporting R&B diva Lââm. On his own he joined forces with K-Reen and J-Mi Sissoko, later linking with producers Kore and Skalp, who enlisted him for the 2002 Taxi 3 film soundtrack. Connections and talent aside, a solo contract materialized only in 2005, allowing the release of his self-titled Sony BMG debut early the next year.
