Biography
Born in Portmore, Jamaica, roots reggae artist I-Wayne, whose given name is Cliffroy Taylor, channels the vintage reggae textures of the 1960s and 1970s. Early singles brought only modest success until his cautionary 2004 single “Can't Satisfy Her” broke through commercially. That track anchored the 2005 album Lava Ground, which was succeeded two years later by Book of Life. Both projects appeared on the VP imprint, as did the singer’s 2011 release Life Teachings.
