Reggae singer Greg Rose entered the world in Jamaica’s St. Ann Parish in 1980. Drawn to music and stage performance from childhood, he cut his first recordings under the alias Lil Ninja and later cycled through the names Mr. Perfect and Perfect before settling on Perfect Giddimani. Early-2000s releases appeared under the Perfect moniker, yet national attention arrived only in 2004 with the hit single “Hand Cart Bwoy.” Momentum from that track secured a contract, and DHF Records issued the debut album Giddimani in 2006.

Throughout the following decade Perfect Giddimani maintained a relentless output, delivering full-length projects nearly every year, among them Born Dead with Life in 2008, Karma in 2009, and Back for the First Time in 2011. Singles flowed just as steadily; dozens of tracks emerged while formats shifted from 7-inch vinyl to digital downloads and, eventually, streaming platforms. In late 2009 he launched Giddimani Records to house both his own material and select outside collaborations. One of those joint efforts, Young Shanty’s Chalice Row or Dig a Hole EP, reached number one on Billboard’s reggae chart upon its 2017 arrival. Later the same year Perfect Giddimani’s eleventh studio album, Live My Life Again, also climbed to the summit of that same Billboard ranking.
