Ideal

The German new wave quartet Ideal came together centered on the abilities of Annette Humpe, Ernst Ulrich Deuker, Frank Jürgen Krüger, and Hans-Joachim Behrendt. Their self-titled debut album appeared in 1980 on the label owned by Klaus Schulze of Tangerine Dream. Further releases followed, among them Der Ernst des Lebens and Bi Nuu, prior to the quartet’s 1984 disbandment. On February 27, 2023, drummer Hans-Joachim Behrendt died in Berlin at the age of 68.
