Biography
Spanish-Chilean outfit the Zephyr Bones crafted an elegant variety of guitar-driven dream pop for their first album, Secret Place, which appeared in 2017. Four years afterward, Neon Body broadened the scope of their glowing sonic approach.
Although the band operates from Spain, its roots trace back to South America, the homeland of Chilean singers/guitarists Brian Silva and Jossip Tkalcic. After relocating to Barcelona, the longtime companions joined forces with rhythm-section players Marc López and Carlos Ramos, refining a serene guitar-pop aesthetic they labeled "beach wave." Under contract with Spanish indie La Castanya, the Zephyr Bones gained notice via their opening EP, Wishes/Fishes, issued in 2015 and securing an invitation to Barcelona’s prestigious Primavera Festival. The next year New York indie Other Music released the 7" single "Black Lips" b/w "Surrounded by Sunflowers," extending the group’s audience further. Late in 2017 the Zephyr Bones at last unveiled their initial long-player, Secret Place, once more through La Castanya.
Surfacing again in 2021 following a four-year hiatus, the ensemble issued its sophomore set, the lush, radiant Neon Body.
