Los Nastys emerged from Madrid, Spain as a high-energy garage band whose sound openly draws on early psychedelia, punk, post-punk, and indie rock while maintaining a defiant lo-fi aesthetic. Their material repeatedly sets millennial outrage against irreverent humor, all delivered through irresistible hooks and communal choruses, and nearly every track moves at a brisk tempo.

Songwriters and guitarists Luis and Fran Basilio assembled the group in their grandfather’s garage in mid-2013. The band self-released its debut EP, Me Lo Encontré Así, in January 2014; the record contained the club hit “Okinawa, Olvídate de Mí.” After the group signed with Warner in May, the EP received an international reissue. October brought the five-track EP La Isla de los Cuadrados Mágicos. Los Nastys toured Spain and Western Europe without pause, and five separate songs reached international charts that year. The non-album single “Never Digas Never” appeared at the end of January 2016, preceding the March arrival of the full-length Noche de Fantasmas. Nacional issued Cannibal Business in June, a compilation that gathered singles, EP cuts, and unreleased material.
