Isla Grant, a Scottish contemporary country performer boasting an extensive body of work, enjoys widespread appeal stretching from the United Kingdom and Ireland across to New Zealand and Australia. She entered the world in Wigtownshire, Scotland, within a household steeped in music that exposed her early on to the folk traditions of the surrounding area. Picking up the guitar, she developed a strong affinity for American country sounds. Over the years she achieved global recognition in that genre, issuing a steady stream of albums—typically at least one annually. Among them stand Only Yesterday (1999), Mother (2000), Childhood Memories (2002), The Day Christ Was Born (2002), The Beauty of My Home (2003), The Best of Isla Grant (2004), When the Day Is Done (2005), Faith, Love and Hope (2006), Down Memory Lane (2007), A Dream Come True (2008), and Special to Me (2008). Eventually she established her own imprint, I.G.E., and launched her first independent project, the Hank Williams tribute Isla Sings Hank (2008).
