Biography
Mike Denver rose to prominence as one of Ireland's leading country performers, aided by an unyielding schedule of live shows and steady studio output. Born Michael Fallon in Galway, he grew up immersed in his mother's intense affinity for the genre. At sixteen he began appearing onstage with her at venues across Northern Ireland. During one of those early engagements, manager Willie Carty observed his set and offered representation that same evening. Denver wrote and tracked his debut album, Wings to Fly, which appeared in 2003. He sustained a demanding tour calendar while continuing to release full-length projects, among them Seasons in the Sun (2008), Vintage Country (2011), and There's Only One Mike Denver (2013). The most prominent of these was 2008's Got a Funny Feelin', which featured country legend George Jones. A defining moment came in 2014 when he headlined the DalriadaLIVE festival at Glenarm Castle. The prolific musician returned with another studio album, Cut Loose, in 2016.
