Biography
Having spent eight years shaping their jangly guitar pop, the Milwaukee band originally called Jail landed their breakthrough via a two-album agreement with Sub Pop in November 2009. Discovery of a duplicate name forced the addition of an extra L, resulting in the revised spelling Jaill. Their planned follow-up to that initial success, There's No Sky (Oh My My), was slated for the ensuing year. That's How We Burn, the first album to feature outside assistance, was tracked at Milwaukee's Mystery Room studio with Justin Perkins and appeared in July 2010. The original trio next delivered Traps in 2012, after which founding members Austin Dutmer and Andrew Harris stepped away, leaving Vincent Kircher to proceed solo. A reconstituted lineup and a shift to the garage-focused Burger Records brought Jaill back in 2015 with their fourth LP, Brain Cream.
