Biography
Jesse Larson gained recognition from competing in the 12th season of The Voice, making it all the way to the finals powered by his blues-rock growl. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he was steeped in classic blues and rock from childhood, acquiring skills on guitar and in singing early on. Frequent gigs around Minneapolis, typically with his eight-piece band MPLS, marked his early career, but a major opportunity arose in 2016 at age 33 as Prince enlisted him to play guitar in the touring band for protégé Judith Hill. This engagement ceased with Prince's sudden death on April 21, 2016. Thereafter, Larson opted to audition for The Voice, and with Adam Levine's mentorship, advanced far, concluding the season in fourth place.
