Biography
Lauren Duski, a country-pop singer and songwriter, first captured widespread notice early in 2017 by advancing to the finals of season 12 on NBC’s The Voice. That same year she landed a Hot Country Songs chart entry with “Deja Vu,” then delivered her 2019 EP Midwestern Girl. She has since sustained her development with later singles such as 2020’s “The Broken Kind” and 2021’s “I Would for You.”
A 1991 native of Gaylord, Michigan, she began her stage work in high school alongside a local country ensemble, playing throughout the northern half of the state and opening for Randy Travis, Lonestar, Bill Anderson, and other established names. During her time at the University of Michigan she turned greater attention to songwriting; after completing a biopsychology degree she relocated to Nashville to test her prospects in music. A strong audition secured her place on The Voice in 2017, where her run proved highly successful and ended with a runner-up finish. In May of that year The Complete Season 12 Collection appeared, assembling her televised performances and spotlighting the hit single “Deja Vu.”
She resurfaced in 2019 with the Midwestern Girl EP, which contained the singles “Costume Party” and “Runnin’ (To You)” and reached the Top 50 on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart. Additional singles followed, among them 2020’s “The Broken Kind” and 2021’s “I Would for You.”
