Biography
Danielle Bradbery, a present-day country performer recognized for her emotionally charged approach that mixes pop and R&B influences, converted her victory on the television singing contest The Voice into a number-five placement for her self-titled debut on the Billboard country albums chart in 2013. Her follow-up full-length, I Don't Believe We've Met, reached as high as number six on that same ranking in 2017. Joint projects with Diplo and Thomas Rhett came next in 2020, after which 2021 yielded the Spanish-language track “Never Have I Ever (Yo Nunca He…)” together with the direct “Stop Draggin' Your Boots.” The 2022 compilation In Between: The Collection gathered earlier singles and preceded her third studio album, Danielle, whose introspective character was released in 2024.
Born Danielle Simone Bradbery on July 23, 1996, in League City, Texas, she grew up in Cypress within the Greater Houston area. Despite having performed almost exclusively in private, often using a hairbrush as a microphone while facing her bedroom mirror, she advanced through blind auditions to join the fourth season of The Voice during the first half of 2013. Her Top Ten playoff interpretation of “Heads Carolina, Tails California” drew substantial streaming attention and entered the Billboard Hot 100. A download-only set documenting her show performances appeared that July, and Big Machine issued her self-titled studio album in November. Anchored by “The Heart of Dixie,” which peaked at number 16 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, the album itself attained number five on the corresponding album ranking. Bradbery subsequently supported Hunter Hayes on tour.
She joined Miranda Lambert, Brett Eldredge, and Thomas Rhett for live dates in 2015 and issued “Friend Zone,” planned as the lead single for a sophomore project that ultimately did not appear. “Sway” surfaced on BMLG Records in June 2017, reaching the country Top 40 before being featured on I Don't Believe We've Met, which climbed to number six on the country albums chart that December. She also made a guest appearance that year on an episode of the television series Nashville.
Alongside Zac Brown, Bradbery contributed to Diplo’s “Hometown” in May 2020; months later she paired with Thomas Rhett on the successful duet “Goodbye Summer.” The 2021 Kurt collaboration “Never Have I Ever (Yo Nunca He…)” marked her first recording in Spanish. “Stop Draggin' Your Boots” and “Break My Heart Again” followed in 2021 and 2022, respectively, both landing on the compilation In Between: The Collection. She released the brisk single “A Special Place” later that year, the candid “Monster” in 2023, and “Younger and Wiser” a year afterward. In September 2024 Bradbery presented her third studio album, Danielle, its matching title underscoring the project’s intimate focus on emotional growth and recovery following the conclusion of a difficult relationship.
