Ingrid Andress, a Nashville-based singer and songwriter, produces soulful pop that blends country and R&B influences. Initial recognition arrived through her a cappella performances on NBC's The Sing-Off in 2010, after which she established her profile by co-writing material with Alicia Keys, Sam Hunt, Charli XCX, and other artists. Her solo career began in 2019 with the release of singles "Lady Like" and "More Hearts Than Mine," both of which appeared on the 2020 album Lady Like. That project became her breakthrough, entering the country Top Ten and earning three Grammy nominations, among them Best Country Album. Building on this momentum, she returned to the country charts via the 2021 collaboration "Wishful Drinking" with Sam Hunt and issued her introspective second album Good Person.

Raised in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Andress spent much of her childhood homeschooled within a large family before entering high school. Early on she nurtured a passion for music through drumming, piano playing, and original songwriting. During her teenage years she also pursued athletics and modeling. At Rock Canyon High School she sang in the chamber and jazz choirs, secured lead roles in several musicals, and earned spots in both the Colorado All-State Jazz Choir and the Colorado All-State Women's Choir. In her senior year intensified vocal and piano study led to a vocal scholarship at Boston's Berklee College of Music, where she pursued a dual major in songwriting and performance. While there she joined the a cappella ensemble Pitch Slapped, which competed on season two of NBC's The Sing-Off and brought her vocal praise plus a CARA nomination. The next year she participated with the all-female group Delilah, finishing sixth.

Following those television appearances she completed her Berklee degree under the mentorship of pop songwriter Kara DioGuardi. After graduation she moved to Nashville and began a songwriting career that included co-authoring tracks for Sam Hunt, Alicia Keys, and Lauren Jenkins. Those efforts produced credits on hits such as DJ Vice's "Steady 1234" and Charli XCX's "Boys." Early 2019 saw the arrival of her debut solo singles "Lady Like" and "More Hearts Than Mine," the latter climbing to number five on Billboard's Country Airplay Chart that summer. September brought the digital EP The Rosebank Acoustic Sessions, followed later in the year by the digital singles "Both" and "We're Not Friends."

Lady Like, her first full-length album, appeared in March 2020, reaching the country Top Ten and the Billboard 200. By the end of the year the project had secured three Grammy Award nominations: Best Country Album, Best New Artist, and Best Country Song for "More Hearts Than Mine." August 2021 introduced the single "Wishful Drinking," a collaboration with Sam Hunt. The confessional track "Good Person," co-written with returning collaborator Sam Ellis, arrived in April 2022 as the lead single from her sophomore album of the same name. That LP, which features the tracks "Seeing Someone Else," "Blue," and "Pain," lists co-writing contributions from Ellis, Derrick Southerland, Julia Michaels, and Shane McAnally.
