Emerging with a buoyant, retro-infused approach to country-pop that echoes the glossy anthems of Shania Twain, Newcastle, Oklahoma native Kylie Morgan broke through in the opening years of the 2020s via streaming standouts “Break Things” in 2020 and “I Only Date Cowboys” the following year. Her 2022 EP P.S. introduced a smoother tone and included the duet “Country Anyway” with Walker Hayes.

Drawn to performance after repeated childhood viewings of Shirley Temple films, Morgan shifted her focus to songwriting at age 12, spurred by repeated listens to Twain’s UP!. She first shared “My Miracle,” a composition penned for a friend’s sister battling cancer, at Relay for Life gatherings near her hometown. Appearances at Oklahoma’s Rodeo Opry soon followed, opening the door to regional live work. At 15 she traveled to Nashville for a co-writing session alongside Walker Hayes and Liz Hengber; by 16 the Country Music Association had listed her among its “Who New to Watch” artists. She moved to Nashville permanently at 19 and secured management and publishing agreements with SMACKSongs, the company founded by Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne.

A deal with EMI Nashville came next, yielding the 2019 debut single “Boys Girl.” The 2020 releases “Break Things” and “Cuss a Little”—the latter featuring a guest turn from Walker Hayes—preceded the 2021 tracks “Shoulda” and “I Only Date Cowboys,” all of which appeared on her first EP, Love, Kylie, helmed by Shane McAnally and Ben Johnson.

Throughout this period Morgan also obtained her Yoga Alliance Certification and, during the early-2020s COVID-19 pandemic, created the online series namasteathome. The singles “Independent with You” and “Love Like We’re Drunk” paved the way for the 2022 EP P.S., which again paired her with Walker Hayes on “Country Anyway.”
