Biography
Forming a country-pop duo known as Haley & Michaels, Shannon Haley and Ryan Michaels operate out of Nashville and have earned notice for their tightly blended vocal harmonies along with an affectionate overall tone. The pair, both natives of California’s Bay Area, first crossed paths in Nashville and quickly discovered shared musical touchstones in Garth Brooks and James Taylor. They collaborated on the song “The Price I Pay,” which served as their debut single upon release in 2013; its accompanying music video gained online traction and helped secure honors such as Artist of the Year at the Nashville Independent Music Awards. Their self-released, self-titled debut album surfaced in the fall of 2014 and featured the track “Just Another Love Song,” co-written by Lonestar’s Richie McDonald, who also contributed vocals to the single. The couple wed in the spring of 2015 at the same moment their wedding ballad “Giving It All (To You)” began climbing the country song charts; the song received airplay that summer on the U.S. morning program Kathie Lee & Hoda. Early in 2018 the reactivated Hickory Records named Haley & Michaels its inaugural signing and simultaneously issued the single “All Out.”
