Biography
LoCash comprises the platinum-certified country-pop duo of singer-songwriters Chris Lucas and Preston Brust. The pair first appeared in 2008, issuing two albums as LoCash Cowboys before adopting the shortened name and delivering the gold-certified Fighters in 2016, which featured the number one single "I Know Somebody." Further chart activity followed with Brothers in 2019, the Woods & Water EP in 2021, and the standalone patriotic single "Three Favorite Colors" in 2023. Lucas and Brust have also written hit songs for other artists, among them Keith Urban's "You Gonna Fly" and Tim McGraw's "Truck Yeah."
They launched their career as LoCash Cowboys with a self-released, self-titled album in 2008. After signing with R&J Records in 2009, they issued a series of singles on the label beginning with "Here Comes Summer" in 2010. Having already penned hits for Tim McGraw and Keith Urban, the duo prepared their next project, but R&J's closure in 2012 led them to Average Joe's, where they released "C.O.U.N.T.R.Y." that year. Colt Ford joined the track's remix, and a second self-titled album followed on Average Joe's in 2013.
A shift to the name LoCash occurred in 2015 alongside the I Love This Life EP and its hit title track. Capitalizing on their first Top Ten single, the pair issued their third album, The Fighters, in June 2016 as their initial full-length for Reviver Records; it debuted at number 14 on the country chart and entered the Billboard Top 200, driven by "I Love This Life" and "I Know Somebody." January 2018 brought the upbeat single "Don't Get Better Than That," while Brothers appeared in 2019 on Broken Bow and included the hit "Feels Like a Party." The reflective Woods & Water EP arrived in 2021 and featured "Beach Boys" with Mike Love and Bruce Johnston. In 2022 the duo collaborated with Leslie Jordan and Blanco Brown on the soulful "Let It Slide," then opened 2023 with the stirring anthem "Three Favorite Colors."
