Biography
Born and raised amid the rural landscapes of Gilchrist County, Florida, Easton Corbin harbored dreams of a country singing career by the time he reached three or four years old. Following his parents’ divorce he passed considerable time on his grandparents’ cattle farm, where participation in local FFA and 4-H programs mingled with farm chores and a growing fascination for the Opry television programs broadcast on Saturday nights. He also immersed himself in his grandfather’s record collection, which contained numerous titles once belonging to his father and aunts. At fifteen he began guitar lessons under the guidance of his mentor, former Nashville session guitarist Pee Wee Melton, soon performing lead guitar in a local band while refining his own solo performances. A chance audition at a nearby music store earned him a solo slot on the Suwannee River Jam festival stage, which quickly translated into opening-act opportunities for national artists such as Janie Fricke and Mel McDaniel.
After completing a business degree at the University of Florida’s College of Agriculture, Corbin married and relocated to Nashville in 2006 to pursue a professional country career. Booking agent James Yelich and Universal Music Group Nashville Senior Director of A&R Joe Fisher took notice, resulting in his 2009 signing to the Mercury Nashville label. Under producer Carson Chamberlain he issued the debut single “A Little More Country Than That” in July of that year, followed a month later by a four-song EP of the same name. Both projects paved the way for his self-titled full-length debut, Easton Corbin, in 2010. The lead single reached number one on the country charts, and “Roll with It” attained the top position shortly after the album’s release. Chamberlain also helmed the 2012 follow-up All Over the Road, which yielded the Top Ten singles “Lovin’ You Is Fun” and “All Over the Road.” Corbin’s third studio album, About to Get Real, arrived in 2015 and included the singles “Clockwork” and “Baby Be My Love Song.” In 2017 he released “A Girl Like You,” the initial single from his fourth album.
