From a remote farm town in Alberta, the Canadian pop-country duo High Valley emerged to secure major-label status through a series of successful singles and albums that merged their rustic acoustic origins with polished modern country sounds. What began as a trio of brothers—Brad, Curtis, and Bryan Rempel—infused early recordings with a pronounced spiritual emphasis rooted in their Mennonite background. After shrinking to a duo in 2014, Brad and Curtis propelled the group to wider recognition, scoring multiple chart successes that led to an Atlantic Records contract and the 2016 release of their major-label debut, Dear Life. Tracks such as "She's with Me" and "Single Man" stood out, while the brothers maintained ties to their bluegrass and gospel influences through acoustic reinterpretations of their material. Building on the success of their chart-topping 2020 EP Grew Up on That, they delivered their sixth album, Way Back, in 2022.

Raised on a farm in the tight-knit Mennonite settlement of La Crete, Alberta, the Rempel brothers encountered constant country music that shaped their early tastes, prompting them to launch High Valley while still in their preteen years. Local church camps served as initial performance venues, and they gradually advanced to opening slots for touring country acts, all while balancing school and part-time employment. Their 2007 debut, Broken Borders, blended bluegrass traditions, faith-centered songs, and current country styles, earning Album of the Year honors at the GMA Canada Covenant Awards and securing Country Song of the Year for the single "Back to You." The self-titled follow-up arrived in 2010 and claimed five Covenants, after which the 2012 album Love Is a Long Road appeared on Open Road Recordings. Bryan departed shortly afterward to prioritize family time.

As a duo, Brad and Curtis released County Line in 2014, achieving commercial momentum through the singles "Rescue You," "County Line," "Make You Mine," and "She's with Me." This momentum secured their Atlantic deal, culminating in the November 2016 arrival of Dear Life, which registered solid placements on both the Canadian Albums chart and Billboard's Country chart while spotlighting "Make You Mine" and "She's with Me." In 2018 they revisited seven songs from that project in stripped-back form on Farmhouse Sessions. Further momentum arrived with the 2019 non-album release "Single Man," followed in early 2020 by the chart-topping title track from the EP Grew Up on That. The 2021 single "Whatever It Takes" also performed strongly and paved the way for Way Back, issued in May 2022.
