Biography
Born on January 24, 2002, in Apple Valley, California, Brennley Brown discovered music as a source of comfort after learning of her mother’s struggle with Lyme carditis. Her first talent-show appearance occurred at five, and she turned professional at seven with a focus on musical theater. At nine she appeared as guest soloist at the U.S. Open inside Arthur Ashe Stadium, returning for three straight years, and soon afterward received voice-over assignments from Disney, DreamWorks, and Nickelodeon. By eleven she performed in an Ovation Award-winning production of Parade while beginning to write original songs shaped by her growing interest in country music.
Momentum built through the mid-2010s. In 2015 she earned a credited speaking role on Nickelodeon’s Shimmer and Shine and sang the National Anthem at a rally for Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson. The next year she voiced Lily the Good Witch on Disney’s animated series Sofia The First and competed on Season 11 of America’s Got Talent, exiting in the opening round. Her fortunes shifted on the twelfth season of The Voice. Selected as a contestant, she advanced to the semi-finals during the 2017 broadcast, narrowly missing the finale yet establishing herself as a country singer whose commanding voice exceeded expectations for a fifteen-year-old. Although the program raised her profile, Brown had already accumulated steady work since age seven through talent-show circuits and behind-the-scenes Hollywood roles.
