Jody Raffoul works as a rock singer and songwriter from bases in Detroit, Michigan, and Windsor, Ontario, Canada. His debut album, Simple Life, arrived in 2000 as an acoustic-driven set that drew meaningful notice from regional industry figures and secured him choice opening slots with established national rock acts.

He next formed a full band to record the 2004 album Like a Star. Strong regional sales for that project brought further high-profile support dates, including shows with Collective Soul, Kid Rock, Richard Marx, and Counting Crows. A live recording, Live at Migration Hall, also surfaced in 2004, yet 2006 proved the decisive year for his career.

Victory in the Bon Jovi “Have a Nice Gig” competition that year earned Raffoul an opening slot at Giants Stadium in New Jersey alongside Bon Jovi and Nickelback. Building on the resulting momentum, he spent the next period writing new material and issued his third album, Big Sky, in 2008. The record became his first to receive national distribution, driven by the attention generated from his 2006 contest win.
