English vocalist Jonathan Antoine, equipped with classical training, first attracted broad attention in 2012 as a contestant on the sixth series of Britain's Got Talent. Appearing there with his friend Charlotte Jaconelli in the classical crossover duo Jonathan & Charlotte, the pair finished as runners-up after singing "Caruso" and "The Prayer," which led directly to a recording contract with Simon Cowell's Syco label. Earlier acclaim had already come his way when he was named Young Musician of the Year at the 2010 Stratford and East London Music Festival, prompting further study at the Royal Academy of Music that refined his notable voice. The duo issued two well-received albums, Together in 2012 and Perhaps Love in 2013. After parting company they each secured solo deals with Sony Classical. Antoine's first release under that arrangement, Tenore, appeared in autumn 2014, and his second album, Believe, followed in 2016 on the independent classical label Cavendish Records.
