Josylvio

Josylvio emerged as a Dutch rapper whose raw, street-oriented style propelled him to broad recognition once his debut album Ma3seb arrived in 2016 and climbed to number five on the Dutch album charts. Born Joost Theo Sylvio Yussef Abdelgalil Dowib in Naarden to a Dutch mother and an Egyptian father, the artist drew early inspiration from the uncompromising aesthetic of Tupac Shakur and issued his first recordings under the alias Jaybay. In 2015 he switched to the Josylvio name and issued a series of singles, among them the Sevn Alias collaboration “Le7nesh,” which would later surface on his full-length debut. Teaming with producer Esko, that project brought Josylvio to national attention while showcasing guest contributions from Hef, Adje, Kevin, and additional voices within the Dutch hip-hop community. Following his appearance on the 2017 2Pac tribute album All Eyez on Us, he delivered the sophomore release 2 Gezichten. In February 2018 he returned with his third album, Hella Cash, which ascended to the top position on the Dutch charts.
