Biography
Having received formal classical training as a baritone, Jubilant Sykes earned recognition as an opera, jazz, and spiritual singer during the final years of the 1990s. He launched his professional work in the opening years of that decade. His following expanded markedly by 1996, when Sacred Music USA designated him Vocalist of the Year. At the point he issued his debut recording, Jubilant, through Sony Classical in spring 1998, Sykes already enjoyed broad esteem for appearances at the Metropolitan Opera and the Deutsche Oper Berlin, along with engagements alongside the Boston Pops, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and numerous additional ensembles. Sony released his second album, Wait For Me, in summer 2001.
