Juliana, a vocalist specializing in new age and adult contemporary music, draws strong inspiration from the renowned Enya while cultivating an ethereal, serene, and tranquil style. Unlike Enya, the former Clannad member from Ireland, Juliana resides in England and records there; though primarily a singer, she also plays the Native American flute. She shares Enya’s fascination with Celtic mythology yet blends those interests with conventional new age themes and imagery, and, like Enya, her music reflects both pop and folk influences. In the early 2000s she signed with the independent, new age-oriented New World Music, an England-based company maintaining offices in the United States, Australia, and Holland. For the 2001 release Woman Wisdom, fellow new age artist Llewellyn handled production, arrangement, and most of the songwriting; the sole exception, “Marble Halls,” is a traditional Irish song composed in the nineteenth century by Michael William Balfe (1808–1870) and previously recorded by Enya.
