Kenny Thomas

Born in London, England, Thomas stood among the foremost UK soul dance vocalists during the early 1990s. His highest-charting UK single arrived in 1991 with ‘Thinking About Your Love’ at number 4, while his debut album moved more than 600,000 copies inside the UK. Additional singles from that record, among them ‘Outstanding’, ‘The Best Of You’ and ‘Tender Love’, also secured Brit Award nominations in the categories of Best British Male Vocalist and Best British Newcomer. A second album sustained the same strong commercial run by reviving the warm, relaxed dance grooves of the debut, this time with guest appearances by the Young Disciples, Nu Colours and the Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra. Relative to the first collection, the follow-up tempered some of the original bonhomie while adopting a slightly more mature lyrical perspective shaped by real-life experiences.
