Biography
New Orleans rapper Kidd Kidd, recognized for a delivery both tough and swift, linked himself to the hip-hop empires Young Money and G-Unit long before issuing any official solo project. Born Curtis Steward, he worked as a street performer in New Orleans until Lil Wayne placed him on the Young Money roster. Alongside Gudda Gudda he formed part of Squad Up, the Southern Young Money collective, only for the act to depart the label in 2004, though Kidd Kidd returned to Young Money in 2008. With no solo album yet released, he departed Young Money in 2011 and signed to 50 Cent’s G-Unit imprint. In 2014 he appeared on 50 Cent’s album Animal Ambition and entered the group G-Unit together with Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, Young Buck, and 50.
