Kira Isabella

Born Kira Isabella Wilkie in Ottawa, Ontario, the Canadian country artist who records and performs simply as Kira Isabella also plays guitar and writes songs in a lively country-pop style. Vocal studies began for her at age seven, and Shania Twain’s 2002 album Up! prompted her to focus on country music. Recognition arrived early when, at fourteen, she received the Rising Star honor at the Canadian Country Music Awards; the win drew interest from music executives and produced a contract with Sony Music Canada in 2009. “Love Me Like That,” her debut single, entered the Canadian Hot 100 in 2011. The self-titled first album followed in 2012 and included the additional charting tracks “A Little More Work” and “Songs About You.” During this period she supported Carrie Underwood and Terri Clark as an opening act on their tours, then joined the U.S. roster of HitShop Records near the end of 2013. Her second full-length release, Caffeine & Big Dreams, came out in 2014 and earned a 2015 Juno nomination for Country Album of the Year. Side A, an EP, appeared in 2018 and was succeeded in early 2019 by Side B; the pair were later compiled into the album Sides in 2019.
