An electro-bass producer residing in London, England, L-Vis 1990 incorporates influences from British genres including drum'n'bass and grime alongside American ones like Chicago house and Baltimore club. Originally named James Connolly and raised in Brighton, England, he took up DJing during his teenage years before progressing to create his own beats. His entry into commercial recordings came in 2008 via a self-titled four-track EP issued by Très Cool. Several additional EPs followed in 2009, among them United Groove through Mad Decent, Compass/Zahonda via Sound Pellegrino, and a split release with Bok Bok titled Night Slugs on Dress 2 Sweat. He also gained recognition for his skills as a remixer, with notable efforts encompassing Gucci Vump's "Sha! Shtil!," Passion Pit's "Little Secrets," Crystal Fighters' "Xtatic Truth," Frankmusik's "3 Little Words," and Filthy Dukes' "Tupacrobotclubrock." Tracks he produced featured on various mix compilations, particularly Freq Nasty's FabricLive 42 from 2008 and Buraka Som Sistema's FabricLive 49 in 2009. Late in 2011 saw the release of his album Neon Dreams, coinciding with his Night Slugs label putting out material from Jam City, Kingdom, and Egyptrixx. Between 2012 and 2013, further EPs emerged on Island, Night Slugs, and the Jack for Daze series from Clone.
