Biography
La Compagnie Créole, a Francophone ensemble distinguished by its upbeat Caribbean sound, attracted a broad listenership throughout the 1980s. Their debut album, Blogodo, appeared in 1982. Further albums, awards, and tours ensued, reaching a high point with the 2007 retrospective 25 Ans de Succes (25 Years of Success). Concerts occurred in the U.S.A., Canada, France, Belgium, Switzerland, and Spain. In 2004 the group produced and issued a Spanish-language album while scheduling live appearances as a Spanish-language act.
