Biography
Recognized for his command of the flute and tin whistle, Laurence Nugent first gained wide notice through All-Ireland competition victories in 1994 and 1995, honors that coincided with the start of his solo recording career on Shanachie in 1996 via a self-titled debut. Accompanists such as Liz Carroll and Marty Fahey appeared on his next effort, the 1998 album Two for Two. Two years afterward Windy Gap appeared.
