Biography
Having grown up in New Zealand, Benny Staples and Mike Nielsen relocated to England in 1984. Staples later became the drummer for the Woodentops, while Nielsen worked as a mixer and engineer with Bjork, Simply Red, Naughty by Nature and Underworld. The pair joined forces in the mid-'90s to create minimalist techno driven by powerful club-oriented house rhythms. Their debut EP Mudpool was released in 1995.
