Nandy, a prominent Tanzanian performer in the bongo flava style, first surfaced during the early 2010s with music that fuses dancehall, hip-hop, reggae, R&B, and Afrobeat. Superstar recognition arrived in 2017 via the hit single "Nagusa Gusa," which secured her the Best Female Artist in East Africa Award at that year's All Africa Music Awards.

Born Faustina Charles Mfinaga, she honed her voice in church settings and school choirs before channeling those skills into a recording career. A series of low-profile singles marked her initial output in the early 2010s, yet wider visibility followed the arrival of "Nagusa Gusa," with subsequent tracks "One Day," "Aibu," and "Njiwa" further anchoring her within the East African scene. Her debut full-length album The African Princess appeared in 2018, while "Kata," "Woule," and "Dozi" surfaced in 2020. Nandy also runs a successful beauty and fashion enterprise and serves as Tanzania's Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF's water, sanitation, and hygiene program.
