A Canadian singer and songwriter known for understated, introspective material that frequently examines romance through the eyes of an outsider, Leith Ross put out their debut release, the eight-track collection Motherwell, during 2020. Two years afterward, the earnest acoustic number “We’ll Never Have Sex,” which explores platonic affection, caught fire across social platforms and drew millions of streams.

Raised in the countryside near Ottawa, Ontario, Ross displayed creative tendencies early on and began composing original material near the age of twelve. Roughly ten years later the introspective, primarily acoustic set Motherwell appeared via the Birthday Cake imprint in 2020. Twelve months after that came the two-song single pairing “I’d Have to Think About It” with “Monogamy.” Issued at the start of 2022, the warmhearted track “We’ll Never Have Sex” spread rapidly online, amassing millions of plays within a few months. That same May, Ross contributed to “Don’t Feel Like Crying” alongside their labelmates and touring partners the Bros. Landreth.
