Biography
The wistful indie rock stylings of Levy arise from James Levy on guitar and vocals, Matthew Daniel Siskin on guitar, James Broughel on bass, and Mike Jones on drums. Formed in New York City during 2004, the group first gained notice through repeated performances on East Village bar stages. Their endearing, Morrissey-esque sound had attracted One Little Indian Records by midsummer of 2005. That September brought an appearance at the annual CMJ Music Marathon, timed exactly with the release of the band's debut album, Rotten Love.
