For Swedish pop artist Linda Bengtzing, modeled after Melodifestivalen stalwarts Lena Philipsson and Carola, determination ultimately led to recognition. She began her climb toward fame by appearing on Fame Factory's fourth and concluding season, though she never reached the finals. While still on the program she earned a slot at Melodifestivalen 2005, where she performed "Alla Flickor" and placed last after receiving no phone-in votes. Despite the outcome, the track climbed to number eight on the Swedish charts. "Diamanter" arrived soon afterward and reached number 32. Encouraged by those results, Bengtzing returned to Melodifestivalen the next year with "Jag Ljuger Sa Bra," a number originally written for Jessica Andersson. She placed seventh, yet the song advanced to number two on the charts. Her first album, the 2006 release Ingenting att Forlora, peaked at number four and produced the additional Top Ten entry "Kan Du Se." Early the following year she collaborated with novelty rapper Markoolio on the humorous single "Varsta Schlagern," which became her first chart-topping hit.
