Biography
Little Teeth, a San Francisco trio blending noise-pop with freak folk, came together in 2004 when drummer Ammo Eisu answered a Craigslist ad placed by vocalist and guitarist Dannie Murrie, who sought a "feminist rocker chick" as a musical partner. Having relocated to California from Connecticut after earning a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Yale, Eisu connected with Murrie face-to-face, and the pair began collaborating in a basement studio. Bassist Andy Tisdall, the group's only male member, joined after taking an audio engineering class alongside Murrie. Their debut album, Child Bearing Man, required nearly 14 months to complete, during which the three musicians traded vocal parts, rotated instruments, and layered overdubs of mandolin, accordion, cello, pots, pans, and electronic samples. Absolutely Kosher, their local imprint, issued the finished record on September 9, 2008.
