Emerging as a leading figure in French hip-hop, Lord Kossity launched his recording journey during the early 1990s by joining the ensemble Contrast with his relative Dr. Jekyll. By weaving raga elements into the zouk sound prevalent on French Antilles broadcasts, he quickly distinguished himself, leaving an imprint on the regional music scene by 1993. Although originating from Paris's outskirts, his family relocated back to their Caribbean homeland during his youth. Residing in those islands from the age of 11 onward, he took a decisive step in 1995 by heading back to his birthplace, aiming for recognition amid Europe's burgeoning hip-hop scene. His initial track, "Ma Benz," swiftly drew attention from influential figures in Paris. Collaborations followed with seasoned performers such as Joey Starr through the collective B.O.S.S. and Kool Shen via IV My People, paving the way for his solo contract and the issuance of Everlord in 2000. Crafted across studios in France and Jamaica, this project highlighted his distinctive approach while honoring his French Caribbean heritage. Comparable achievements marked The Real Don in 2001 and Koss City in 2002. The pivotal Booming System from 2005 propelled him to the summit of multiple domestic rankings and earned inclusion in Billboard's Top European 100. Later efforts like Jamaican World (2005) and Danger Zone (2006) sustained his trajectory, establishing him among France's top-tier hip-hop talents.
