London duo Majik craft moody electronic pop that fuses Sam Smith’s soulful essence with the hypnotic sonic textures favored by Jack Garratt and James Blake. Producer Jamie and vocalist Marcus first connected while sharing living quarters in Leeds, where overlapping tastes quickly sparked creative partnership. They selected their stage name in tribute to the transformative energy that emerged inside their domestic recording setup. Majik launched their recording career in 2015 through the double-A-side single “It’s Alright” b/w “Save Me.” The next year brought the tracks “Closer” and “Real,” followed in 2017 by the three singles “Paralysed,” “Friends [Under the Influence],” and “27.”
