Biography
Following the early 2005 dissolution of the popular British boy band Busted, in which he had performed under the aliases Matt Jay and Mattie Jay, Matt Willis launched a solo career. One year later he briefly suspended his professional activities to enter an alcohol rehabilitation facility. He subsequently downplayed the severity of his issue, asserting it was minor and noting his departure from the program within a fortnight. March 2006 marked his first solo stage appearance at Northumbria University in Newcastle, with the release of his initial album Don't Let It Go to Waste occurring several months afterward. Additional recognition came his way in December of that same year when he emerged victorious on the British reality program I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!, a show reminiscent of Survivor.
