Formed during 2009, the pop-punk outfit We Are the In Crowd calls Poughkeepsie, New York home. Keyboardist Taylor Jardine and guitarist Jordan Eckes share lead vocal duties, while guitarist Cameron Hurley, bassist Mike Ferri, and drummer Rob Chianelli round out the lineup. Their freshly launched Myspace page suffered a hack soon after the group assembled, wiping every track and follower from the site. The episode drew coverage on Absolutepunk.net, which in turn prompted Hopeless Records to reach out and offer a deal. Previously known simply as the In Crowd, the band adopted the fuller name We Are the In Crowd right after signing, settling a conflict with an established reggae act that already used the shorter moniker. Their first release, the 2010 EP Guaranteed to Disagree, arrived that year, and the group spent the summer on the Warped Tour circuit supporting the record before heading back into the studio for a longer project. Late 2011 brought the full-length Best Intentions, which entered the Billboard Top 200. John Feldmann, a longtime figure in pop-punk production, helmed the follow-up Weird Kids, issued in early 2014.
