Biography

Formed in Philadelphia in 2003, Valencia produces melodic indie pop/rock in the style of Hidden in Plain View and the Early November. Shane Henderson fronts the group on vocals, Maxim Soria handles drums, Brendan Walter and J.D. Perry play guitar, and George Ciukurescu covers bass. Rob Hitt, owner of the I-Surrender label and drummer for Midtown, gave their demo a late-night listen in March 2005, found himself impressed, and rang the band that same evening before completing the signing one week later. The band’s first full-length release, This Could Be a Possibility, arrived in October 2005.
